"My time as a summer intern at the Fund for Peace has been intellectually stimulating and exciting. The work was challenging and rewarding. I felt I was contributing to the Fund. Both the management and the interns were amiable and shared a fine sense of humor. It is no surprise that a great deal of work was completed over the summer because of the positive atmosphere and consistently strong work ethic displayed by those in the office. I can say with certainty that the Fund for Peace internship experience trumps all others that I have heard about from my UC peers."

"I had a great experience. I met great people and learned a lot. I really enjoyed how close everyone is here and how friendly everyone is. I was also very impressed with the amount of work I was given. I have had other internships where I was told I was going to be doing all sorts of work, only to find out that they really didn't have much for me to do. I was given a great deal of substantive while I was here, and I really enjoyed it. If the Fund for Peace keeps doing what it is, there really isn't much to improve on."

"I was intimidated by the prospect of interning at the Fund for Peace because I knew I would probably be the youngest person there, so I was relieved that the atmosphere was friendly. One thing I greatly appreciated was the diversity of the intern pool; I met a number of very intelligent, interesting people whom I would not have encountered otherwise. My time here has been not only academically stimulating but enjoyable as well."

"My tenure at the Fund for Peace has been very enriching and enjoyable on academic, professional and personal levels. I liked the fact that I was warmly welcomed and the Fund's core functions were clearly articulated to me. The fact that I was invited to a number of meetings that debated issues that are of research interest to me and the network opportunities of such meetings is something I treasure. All I can say is keep up the good work and continue providing an environment in which aspiring researchers and practitioners can hone their skills."

"I really enjoyed becoming immersed in coverage and analysis of the conflict in Iraq. I know that I'm walking away with a much deeper, more nuanced, and broader understanding of Iraq, the Middle East, and political Islam. In fact, I found the Iraq conflict so interesting that I'm now including jobs involving related subjects in my ongoing job search. I discovered how difficult producing quality software is and what's required to produce really good quantifiable data. In addition, I learned a lot about how underlying factors both feed into and are signposts of conflict and state failure, as well as the many different manifestations of state failure. I think the work atmosphere at the Fund for Peace is the warmest and most comfortable of all the places I've interned at. The camaraderie and friendship among the interns was really incredible and a wonderful addition to my summer. The staff was warm and gave us almost complete independence, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for an intellectually and personally rewarding summer."

"I had a very positive experience at the Fund for Peace this summer. The permanent staff were friendly and worked hard to involve myself and other interns in the substantive work of the Fund. As an intern I was given the opportunity to work on important elements of the Fund's most important projects. My fellow interns' backgrounds included Croatia, Azerbaijan, and Africa. The diverse perspectives they brought to our discussions of development and conflict in weak states and other topics across a wide range of issues made for a stimulating and educational experience."
